Pretty Strong · Fertility & IVF
Training while you are trying to conceive.
Most of the internet tells you to stop. Most coaches hand you the same plan with the hard sessions moved. I hold an advanced qualification in fertility nutrition, I have coached women through this since 2016, and I work alongside your clinic, never instead of it.
you are still an athlete. all the way through.

Why this page exists
I have been through a version of this myself.
One round of egg freezing, at 35, on my own. Every needle, every scan, every bit of the emotional side that nobody warns you about. The stims and the monitoring are the same ones a lot of you are doing right now. I am not writing this page from a textbook.
i know what the injections do to a training week.
If this is you
Four versions of the same gap.
Nobody is writing training plans for this. So women either keep training in the dark and hope, or stop entirely and lose the one thing that was holding them together.
You have just started trying
You are still racing, still training, and you want to know what actually needs to change. Which is less than you think, and different from what you have read.
You are mid-IVF
Stim weeks, collection, transfer, the wait. Your training has to flex around a calendar you do not control, and often at a few days notice.
It has been a long time
Months or years of this. Training is still yours, it is still the thing that works, and you are not willing to give it up to a vague instruction.
You have been told to stop
Someone has implied your running is the problem. You want to know what the evidence actually says, and what your own numbers actually say.
The honest version
What changes, and what does not.
What changes
- Fuelling comes first. Energy availability is the piece that matters most and the piece almost nobody checks. We start there, not with your mileage.
- Intensity moves around your protocol. Stim, collection and transfer each get their own approach, planned in advance rather than cancelled on the day.
- Your race calendar gets flexible. We pick events that can be moved, deferred or swapped without it costing you anything.
- We stop chasing body composition. Completely. It is not a performance lever here and I will not treat it as one.
What does not
- You still have goals. We still write them down, and we still work towards them.
- You still get a real plan. Structured, progressive, with sessions that have a point.
- You still race when the window allows it, properly prepared rather than squeezed in.
- You still get the hard sessions. They go in the weeks that can carry them.
How it works
Three steps, then we are coaching.
Application and a conversation
Where you are, what your clinic has said, what you are chasing, and what you are willing to move. No forms full of weight questions.
A plan built around your protocol
Not a template with the hard days shifted. Training and fuelling written together, around your cycle or your treatment calendar.
We adjust, week by week
Plans change at short notice here, and that is normal. Coaching calls as and when you need them, not on a fixed schedule.
Boundaries
What I will not do.
- I will not give you medical advice. Nothing about your protocol, your medication or your results. That is your clinic's work and I stay out of it.
- I will not promise that training changes will get you pregnant. Nobody honest can. What I can do is make sure training and fuelling are not working against you.
- I will not put you on a weight-loss plan. Not as a side goal, not quietly, not if you ask.
- I will not tell you to stop moving by default. If stopping is the right call for you, we will talk about it with reasons attached.
your clinic handles the medicine. i handle the training.

No email gate on any of these. If they are all you ever take from me, that is a fine outcome.
Questions
The ones I get asked most.
Do I have to stop running?
Not as a default, no. The questions worth asking are whether you are eating enough for what you are doing, and whether the hard work is landing in sensible places. Those are the two things I can actually help with.
What qualification do you have in this?
An advanced qualification in fertility nutrition, on top of my sports nutrition qualification. It is not common in endurance coaching, which is most of the reason this page exists.
Can you work with my clinic?
I work alongside it. If your consultant gives you an instruction, that instruction wins and I build around it. I will never contradict them, and I will not ask you to choose.
What happens around egg collection and transfer?
We plan those weeks in advance rather than reacting. Usually that means pulling intensity and impact back in specific windows and keeping movement that helps you feel like yourself. The detail depends entirely on your protocol.
Can I still race?
Often, yes, with a calendar built so that missing one is not a disaster. We choose events you can defer, and we stop treating a deferral as failure.
Do I have to be in Singapore?
No. Coaching is online and most of my athletes are not here.
Ready when you are
Tell me what you are chasing.
Ten years of coaching women, 200+ athletes, and an application form that asks about your goals rather than your dress size. If this is the stage you are in, I would like to hear about it.
